Case Study

Cal Poly Humboldt

Designing and maintaining accessible Drupal systems for Music, English, Sponsored Programs Foundation, and the Office of Economic and Community Development.

EvenVision has supported multiple Cal Poly Humboldt programs whose websites needed to be accessible, maintainable, and aligned with institutional expectations while still serving very different audiences and operational goals.

Across the Music Department, English Department, Sponsored Programs Foundation, and the Office of Economic and Community Development, our role combined design, Drupal implementation, accessibility auditing and certification, web application work, and long-term support.

  • Completed accessibility audits and certification work for Music, English, Sponsored Programs Foundation, and OECD.
  • Designed and built departmental sites that remained maintainable for staff after launch.
  • Provided web application development, Drupal implementation, and long-term maintenance for the Office of Economic and Community Development.

Core Priorities

  • Accessible design and certified implementation.
  • Drupal systems staff could manage over time.
  • Institutional credibility across distinct administrative contexts.

Why It Mattered

These engagements show how the same accessibility and CMS discipline can support different kinds of higher-education work, from departmental communication to public-facing economic-development tools.

Music Department

For the Music Department, our work included design, a Drupal build, and accessibility audit and certification work so the resulting site could serve prospective students, faculty, and the public in a way that was both clear and compliant.

Sponsored Programs Foundation

For the Sponsored Programs Foundation, we handled design and build work, later returning for a Drupal rebuild as needs evolved. Accessibility audit and certification work helped ensure the site remained usable and institutionally sound over time.

English Department

For the English Department, our work included design, a Drupal build, and accessibility audit and certification work so the site could support department communication with a structure that was both usable and maintainable.

Office of Economic and Community Development

For OECD, the engagement extended beyond a standard website build. Our work included web application development, design, a Drupal website build, long-term maintenance, and accessibility audit and certification.

That combination required a system that could support both public-facing communication and practical operational use over the long term.

What these engagements demonstrate

  • Accessibility built into delivery rather than layered on late.
  • Drupal implementations shaped around varied stakeholder needs.
  • Long-term maintainability across different administrative contexts.
